John Muir Laws is a naturalist, educator, and artist, with degrees in conservation and resource studies from the University of California, Berkeley; in wildlife biology from the University of Montana, Missoula; and in scientific illustration from the University of California, Santa Cruz.     One of the best books I have ever had! I started sketching a year ago inspired by John Muir Laws. This book is for all levels. He has made drawing of birds so easy that even my kids have been sketching. Its very simple yet very thorough. Absolutely one of the best guides in every respect.
  • Great Tool for children and adults

    Purchased this book as a supplement to a birding hobby. My kids took an interest in both birding as well as drawing. Law presents the information and techniques in a very easy to follow manner. Each "lesson" builds upon the last. Law doest assume any skill level about his readers. As such the details are plentiful and helpful. This book will become the "go to" reference for drawing birds. For adults and children this is a must have resource.
